TIP Innovation Award 2019 - Congratulations from InterLog Management GmbH go to the winner
Zurich, 10 and 11 April 2019 - The Swiss Logistics & Distribution trade fair has been attracting groups of visitors from industry, commerce and logistics for 3 years now. This year around 200 exhibitors exhibited and 4500 trade visitors were able to find out about new products and innovations. The focus was on the following topics: The future of material Handling, E-Logistics and Distribution & Systems.
The Association Network Logistics (VNL) Switzerland presented the TIP Innovation Award at the joint stand, "Technology and Innovation Park", specially set up for Swiss SMEs and start-ups. The prize honours small and young companies that have developed an innovative idea over the past two years but have not been able to create a corresponding market presence on their own. A 20-member jury decides to what extent the innovations are attractive and evaluates the practical benefits for logistics. This year, InterLog Management GmbH provided Mr. Markus Lanz, Senior Consultant, as a member of the jury and was thus able to actively shape the competition.
This year's winner of the TIP Innovation Award is Prognosix. Dr. Peter Kauf, CEO and Co-Founder of Prognosix, accepted the prize and was also presented with a cheque for 2,000 francs by co-sponsor Carsten Leuters, Director, KPMG AG. The expert jury was convinced by a scientific, mathematically based software solution to support complex forecasting processes. It should be emphasized that this software solution combines self-learning algorithms with the experience and intuition of system users. In his role as a member of the jury, Mr. Lanz subsequently explained that he was convinced by the mature, innovative solution of the winner Prognosix with its high user benefit, especially in the field of forecasting accuracy for food logistics. For the food industry in particular, this solution makes the inclusion of existing internal data (planned actions, festive occasions, etc.) and external factors (e.g. poor harvest, weather influences) an important factor in preventing food waste.
